Ingredients

• Glucosamine Sulfate 500 mg., Chondroitin Sulfate 500 mg.

Traditional Uses

• Arthritis joint pain preventative
• Osteoarthritis
• Useful for patients on NSAIDs ("non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs" such as ASA and Ibuprofen) which inhibit cartilage repair
• Possible treatment for vascular conditions

Mode of Action

• Helps in synthesis of cartilage both by increasing key components of cartilage such as glucosaminoglycans and by promoting incorporation of sulfur into cartilage

Drug Interactions

• May decrease the effectiveness of anti-diabetes drugs increasing insulin resistance, monitor carefully
• Chondroitin sulfate effects may be additive with those of hyaluronic acid to which may be given to patients undergoing cataract surgery

Cautions

• May cause stomach upset, diarrhea or constipation
• Use with caution if allergic to shellfish
• Since it is not a pain reliever, improvement is gradual but real

Recommended Dose

Take one capsule two times daily.
