Ingredient Information
Zinc 5 mg (Zinc gluconate); Vitamin C 50 mg (Ascorbic Acid); Vitamin D3 2.5 mcg/100 IU (Cholecalciferol)
Excipients: Cellulose, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate, Vegetable Stearic Acid, Sorbitol, Menthol, Natural Lemon Flavour, Eucalyptus, Silica, Camphor, Anise Oil.
Restrictions
Drug Interactions: Antibiotics: quinolones and tetracyclines - zinc may reduce effectiveness. Take zinc at least 2 hours after ingesting these medications.
Nutrient Depletions: Diuretics, ethambutol, penicillamine, sodium valproate - zinc intake in the elderly may be sub-optimal and, if compounded with certain drugs, can lead to mild or even moderate zinc deficiency.
Breastfeeding may deplete maternal zinc stores, resulting from a greater need for zinc during lactation. Alcohol decreases the absorption of zinc and increases loss of zinc in urine.
Diarrhea causes zinc loss. Those who have had gastrointestinal surgery or who have digestive disorders that result in malabsorption, such as sprue, Crohn's disease and short bowel syndrome, may lack zinc.
Warnings and Precautions: Zinc supplementation can cause a copper deficiency. Consult a health care practitioner if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Toxicity, Adverse Reactions and Side Effects: Zinc Lozenges should be limited to short-term therapy, such as the treatment of cold symptoms for about one week.
