Excipients: Cellulose, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate.
Restrictions
Drug Interactions: The following medications can react adversely with, or increase potassium levels in the body: ACE Inhibitors (i.e. captopril, enalapril), Antihypertensives, Anti-Infectives, Antipsychotic drugs (Neuroleptics, Major Tranquilizers), Beta-Blockers, Potassium-Sparing Diuretics, Sulfonamides (Anti-Infectives).
Do not take any of the above medications with potassium supplements unless under the supervision of a doctor.
Nutrient Depletions: Potassium can be depleted by the following medications: Corticosteroids, Anti-Acne Drugs, Anti-Asthmatic Drugs/Bronchodilators, Anti-Ulcer Drugs, Loop Diuretics (i.e. bumetanide, furosemide), Thiazide Diuretics (i.e. hydrochlorothiazide).
Potassium supplements can decrease the effectiveness of the following medications: Anti-Gout Drugs.
Supportive Interactions: Anti-Glaucoma Drugs.
Warnings and Precautions: For adult use only.
Toxicity, Adverse Reactions and Side Effects: Do not take more than the recommended dosage. Toxicity tends to occur only with excessive potassium supplementation or in those with impaired renal function. Excess potassium can cause stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, muscle fatigue, and irregular heartbeat. Very high blood levels of potassium can be life threatening.
Take with food to decrease stomach irritation.
