Ingredient Information

Niacin (Inositol nicotinate) 500 mg; Inositol (Inositol nicotinate) 150 mg

Excipients: Cellulose, Dicalcium Phosphate, Modified Cellulose Gum, Vegetable Stearic Acid, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate, Silica, Water-Soluble Cellulose, Brazilian Palm Tree Wax.

Restrictions

Drug Interactions: Niacin has been successfully combined with statin drugs to reduce cholesterol more effectively than using these drugs without niacin. However, those taking statin drugs and niacin should be monitored for muscle disorders.

Nutrient Depletions: Antibiotics, estrogen-containing medications (i.e. oral contraceptives), isoniazid and anticonvulsants can deplete the absorption or therapeutic value of niacin.

Supportive Interactions: Niacin functions synergistically with: Anti-cholinergic drugs and the B complex family of vitamins.

Warnings and Precautions: People sensitive to nicotinic acid may experience flushing of the skin that is mild and transient. Do not exceed the recommended dose except on the advice of a physician.

Toxicity, Adverse Reactions and Side Effects: Do not exceed recommended dosage. Inositol hexaniacinate can exert a blood thinning effect with doses of greater than 2,000 mg per day. This product may cause abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, or ulcers. Discontinue use and consult a healthcare practitioner if these effects persist or worsen.
