Lecithin is a fatty substance that provides the body with a source of choline or phosphatidylcholine). Choline is an essential nutrient in the B Vitamin family and it is incorporated into cell membranes.
Lechithin is also a building block for acetylcholine, which is a chemical in the brain that plays a role in memory. Lecithin (and choline) may help treat a variety of gallbladder and liver disorders.
