Restrictions
Not recommended during pregnancy or while nursing unless advised by a physician. If symptoms are severe or persist for more than two days, consult a doctor. Echinacea should not be used by those with known progressive systemic and autoimmune disorders such as AIDS, tuberculosis, leicosis, connective tissue disorders, collagenosia, lupus, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or asthma. Echinacea may overstimulate the immune system and worsen symptoms of these disorders.
Do not take this product if you have an allergy to any plants in the Asteracease/Compositae family (ragweed, daisy, marigold, chrysanthemum). Do not take Echinacea for more than eight consecutive weeks (take at least a one-week period of rest in between). Long-term continuous use can decrease the effectiveness of Echinacea and may depress the immune system. Do not take Echinacea if using immune suppressants (i.e., corticosteroids, cyclosporin). Adverse reactions to Echinacea are rare. However, high doses can cause nausea or dizziness. If you experience any difficulty breathing or develop a skin rash, discontinue use and contact a physician.
