Ingredient Information

Vitamins: Beta-Carotene 6, 000 mcg / 3, 000 mcg RAE, prepared in a specially formulated nutrient base of carrot, parsley, alfalfa, watercress, lecithin and rosehips.

Excipients: Cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, vegetable stearic acid, modified cellulose gum, silica, water-soluble cellulose, Brazilian palm tree wax.

Restrictions

Drug Interactions: Statins, Sibutramine, Orlistat, prenatal drugs.

Nutrient Depletions: HMG-Co A Reductase Inhibitors/Anti-Cholesterol Drugs deplete beta-carotene. Anti-Gout drugs may impair the absorption of beta-carotene.

Supportive Interactions: Beta-carotene is supportive for those on immunosuppressants.

Warnings and Precautions: None known when taken as directed.

Toxicity, Adverse Warnings and Side Effects: Beta-carotene supplements have rarely been shown to have any toxic effects. However, doses larger than that recommended may cause palms and soles to turn a yellow-orange tone. This effect will subside when the dose is lowered. Smokers should avoid taking beta-carotene supplements. There is research to show that beta-carotene supplements may increase the risk of lung cancer in those who smoke.
