Ingredient Information
Alfalfa (10:1) Extract Medicago sativa aerial 650 mg equivalent to 6,500 mg of dried aerial parts.
Excipients: Dicalcium phosphate, cellulose, modified cellulose gum, vegetable stearic acid, vegetable magnesium stearate, silica, water-soluble cellulose, polyethylene glycol.
Restrictions
Drug Interactions: Alfalfa can increase the effectiveness of insulin or oral medications for diabetes and diuretics. Talk to your doctor before taking alfalfa supplements if you are already taking any of these medications, as alfalfa may affect the current dosage.
Alfalfa contains Vitamin K, a nutrient that helps with blood clotting. Therefore, this supplement may decrease the effectiveness of anti-platelet or anti-coagulant drugs.
Alfalfa can interfere with immunosuppressive drugs and corticosteroids because it enhances the functioning of the immune system. Do not take alfalfa with any hormone replacement therapies (HRT) or oral contraceptives. Alfalfa decreasesthe effectiveness of these drugs by exerting its own hormone-like effects on the body.
Nutrient Depletions: Alfalfa can decrease the absorption of Vitamin E.
